The client operates an online math tuition platform based in the UK, designed to help students improve their mathematical skills through digital learning. The platform offers subscription-based learning plans, weekly learning modules, interactive quizzes, and parent dashboards that allow parents to monitor their child’s academic progress.

As the number of students and courses grew, the platform required several custom LearnDash enhancements that could not be achieved with standard plugin functionality. The client needed advanced quiz reporting, bulk course management, improved administrative workflows, custom frontend features, and a more polished user experience across the website.

Custom LearnDash Quiz Reporting System

We developed a comprehensive custom quiz reporting solution that provides administrators with detailed insights into student performance across different LearnDash question types.

The system also organizes questions using category tags, allowing administrators to analyze topic-wise performance:

  • Question-based performance: The system captures each question’s total possible points and the points earned by the student, along with its assigned category tags.
    Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 tags: Each question is assigned the relevant category names across the three levels.
  • Category-based aggregation: Questions with the same category tags are grouped together, and their scores are aggregated to provide performance results for each category.
  • Multiple question types: The reporting solution supports Cloze (Close) Answer, Essay Answer, Free Answer, Matrix Answer, Multiple Choice, Single Choice, Sort Answer, and Assessment Type Questions.

To improve usability, quiz statistics are displayed in a popup interface, allowing administrators to review performance metrics without leaving the current page.

Automated Student Score Reporting

We created a custom shortcode that enables administrators to filter users based on courses and other criteria.

The shortcode makes it easier to locate students, manage enrollments, and perform administrative tasks on large datasets.

A custom AJAX-based solution was developed to capture student quiz scores in real time.

The system automatically:

  • Collects student score data after quiz completion.
  • Generates a CSV file.
  • Emails the report directly to the administrator.

This automation eliminates manual report generation while ensuring timely access to assessment results.
